Leejiham Vita Propolis Ampoule Review

I received the LHJ Vita Propolis Ampoule from Daisy Skin Fix a week before my wedding while I was already flaunting my ‘Glass Skin’ (rather shamelessly I must say). It’s not much of a smart decision to introduce a new skincare product into your routine but I went ahead anyway and learnt the tough way to follow the instruction and not experiment much, especially when it comes to a rather pricey product like the Vita Propolis Ampoule.

You see, the LHJ dermatologists as well as websites like Glow Recipe suggest to mix it with your essence or cream rather than using it on it’s own. I won’t lie, since I introduced it just a week before my wedding, I checked Fiddy’s blog to be assured this product won’t break me out, or if there’s any particular ingredient I should avoid while using this ampoule. In her blog, she clearly wrote that using this ampoule on its own, leaves a you with stubborn stickiness on the skin, no matter how long you pat. But I was already using my J.One Black Jelly pack as my final step of my night time routine and it was moisturizing enough and I thought who needs a booster when you already have a hydrating mask and went on to apply it on its own. Needless to say it was creating a sticky film on the skin which used to make me feel like it was not letting my skin absorb my next step properly. The stubborn me went on using it on its own and even let my sister borrow it while she was home completely forgetting the other way it can be used. A week later, there was no improvement to our respective skin tones, but then again, I was already enjoying my best skin days when I started using it so it was hard to notice any difference.

Fast forward to a week after my wedding, I was suffering from a dull, irritated, uneven and dehydrated skin with 3 active acnes. The wedding stress was all too much for me and I came home to an almost empty stash. I ran out of all my moisturizers during the wedding and the only one that was left was the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask which I had been using during the day time and the amount left would have hardly lasted me a week. Now there was no way I can get any Korean Skincare site deliver me creams and masks within a week so I had to rely on that tiny amount twice daily. I figured it was time I tried using the Vita Propolis Ampoule as a cream booster instead of using it on its own. By this time the bottle was more than half way empty.

I started using it after my Cosrx Galactomyces Essence, mixing 2-3 drops of it with my Klairs. The mixtures glides on the skin smoothly and absorbs with a little patting. I was just glad that my Klairs mask will now last longer that I didn’t even expect anything else from this ampoule. Which is why it was a sweet surprise for me when after a couple of days my dry, dehydrated and irritated skin was smooth, even and brightened. The dewy glow that I was flaunting a month ago returned and I couldn’t be happier. My skin have not yet returned to its ‘glass skin’ phase but at least I got rid of the acne and have a smooth and bright skin. Also, since it’s been just a week since I came home and since my stash is almost empty, I believe with time I can win back my glass skin in a matter of time.

Overall, I’m in love with the LHJ Vita Propolis Ampoule. Sure it’s pricey to say the least, but given to the fact that it took just one product to recover my damaged skin, I’ll say it’s kinddaworth it. I’ll definitely repurchase it and will recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a booster.

Also shoutout goes to the minimal yet catchy packaging which I failed to click. Since I received it a week before the wedding I didn’t get to click the outer packaging and later when I came home it got lost among the clutter which is sad because I really liked the golden cardboard box which looked like origami. You need to unfold the box to get the product out.

Caution: Skip on days you are using Vitamin C or AHA/BHA

NYX Lid Lingerie Eyeshadow Rose Pearl Review

Today, I will be reviewing an eye product from NYX. I saw the review on the shade “Whimsy” and was inspired to buy one too. I am not an expert when it comes to eye makeup, so I was looking forward to this product. I have already reviewed the shade “A Line”previously. To know more about this lid lingerie and how it fared for me, read on further.

My Experience with NYX Lid Lingerie Eyeshadow Rose Pearl:

The eye tint comes in a transparent plastic tube with a black screw-on cap. It is very similar to the Lip Lingerie lipsticks from NYX. It comes sealed in a plastic wrapper. The shade name is printed on the tube itself. It also has a shade code on a sticker on the bottom of the tube. I think this is a good product for on-the-go usage.

The applicator is a doe-foot type, except that the flat side is indented inwards. It enables one to pick up more product from the tube. I do not see much purpose of the shape in terms of application on the eye.

“Rose Pearl” is described as a rose shimmer shade. I thought it would be like a rose gold shade, but this looks peachy in the tube. It has very tiny shimmer particles and looks like molten metal. On my skin tone, the colour doesn’t show up much. It lends a n*de shimmer to my eyelids.

This product glides easily on the lids. It sets almost completely, but it is not transfer proof. The product can be built in layers to achieve maximum opacity. It may also be used as a subtle highlighter, although I haven’t tried it myself. It can be mixed with a primer or lotion to subdue the high pigmentation and smoothed over the high points of the face.

Since the skin on my eyelids is thin, it tends to crease. This product thankfully does not enhance this problem, but doesn’t fix it much either.

I have used this both as an all-over lid shade as well as a highlighter in the inner corner. As it is very pigmented, I usually pick up the product from the applicator using a flat shader brush or a detail brush. I also like to use my fingers as the product is creamy and blends easily. Coming to the removal of this product, it easily comes off with makeup removing wipes or biphasic remover. To remove remaining residue, I follow it up with my double cleanse routine. Overall, I was very happy with this purchase.

My Experience with Catrice Cosmetics Instant Glam Eyeshadow Palette 010 It’s A Match:

The palette comes in a plastic case with a transparent cap. The product is unsealed and has a lot of information on the back of the case. The cap closes with a click and due to its sleek package, the product is travel-friendly. The cap is a little difficult to open and you need to be careful with your nails.

One of the main things that attracted me to this eye shadow is the concept of duo eye shadow. There are 8 shades divided into 4 divisions. The dark and light eye shadows are clubbed together. There is a big petal shaped eye shadow applicator that can be used to apply on the eyes. The sponge applicator is pretty big and picks up the eye shadow effectively. I like the eye shadow applicator as it is pretty big and with just one sweep, you can pick the product. The application is easy where you need to take the shadows with sponge applicator, and then swipe onto the lid. You can use both the colors together or use them separately. The dark shades stays close to the lash and the lighter on the top.

The colors have a metallic finish. They are very soft and have a powdery cream texture. There is very little fall out when being used. The shades are pretty pigmented and with just one sweep, it imparts the color on the lids.

Combination 1: This combination is a cream and orangey brown.
Combination 2: The combination consists of grey and silver grey.
Combination 3: This combination consists of mauve beige and lighter shade of the same.
Combination 4: This combination is the brightest and is a combination of dark pink-purple and a light one.

The product does blends very well and stays on the lids for around 5 hours. The product stays even on oily lids.

Coming to the application, even though it sounds so easy, when trying it out, it isn’t as easy as mentioned. Once you sweep the product and apply on the eyes, it doesn’t provide an even application. At the inner corner there is more product than the outer lid. Also, if it gets over in the middle, reapplication is again a hassle. Even though I love the product and the idea behind it, the product kind of fails and I use it individually. So summing up

My Experience with Nivea Daily Essentials 1 Minute Urban Detox Mask + Purify:

The mask comes in a tube like package. It has highlights of green. The product comes unsealed and has a white flip cap. The cap has the company name on it. The product closes with a click and is handy. The 75 ml tube is travel-friendly as there is no leakage. There is some information on the back of the tube.

The mask is pale green in color with green exfoliating particles. The smell is pleasant and has the typical Nivea smell. The exfoliating particles are from the bark extract of Magnolia.

The application is pretty simple. You need to apply generous amount of the mask and then leave it on for a minute. Later, remove it with a warm cloth or wash it off. The product is an exfoliating mask. The main ingredient of the mask is kaolin and as known, it doesn’t dry off in a minute and I leave it on for 5-10 minutes. The mask when applied on the skin causes a lot of tingling sensation and if you have sensitive skin, it might not be a good choice.

After washing off, the product makes the skin very soft and smooth. It gently cleanses the skin and exfoliates. I wet the mask a little and rub it off against my skin before washing it off. The granules are gentle and do not cause any issues. The product softens the skin and also closes the pores. My skin also looks brighter and this is due to the presence of kaolin. However, the product dries out the skin a lot and you need to follow up with a good moisturizer. The product also reduces the pimples. I usually dab it on pimples and it reduces the pimples within a day. The product does tone the skin. I have been using the product twice in a week and it is pretty good. The concept of detoxification is a little over rated and it could be a good cleansing mask. The product contains parabens which is a minus. Overall, it is a good one but it is nothing special and is just another kaolin mask. So summing up.
